A program of the United Nations Association of the USA (UNA-USA), the Adopt-A-Minefield(tm) Campaign engages individuals, community groups, and businesses in the United Nations effort to remove landmines around the world. The Campaign serves two main purposes:
1) to help save lives by raising funds to clear minefields ; and 2) to educate the public and raise awareness about the global landmine crisis. The Campaign seeks sponsors to "adopt" minefields identified by the United Nations as being in urgent need of clearance.
